ACTIVEWEAR

Mind Blowing Sports.

Making the most out of windy moments in the Netherlands by experiencing indoor skydiving, in one of the best dual chamber facilities in the world.

ON SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES FOR ACTIVEWEAR

Spandex and Lycra are both petroleum-based products. Together with Elastane, they are three fabrics widely used in activewear clothing for their great stretchy and recovery properties. What’s in store to create a greener closet?

To achieve a more sustainable lifestyle, consuming new clothes stand as a crucial frontier to slow down the depletion of natural resources, and environmental degradation associated with fabric production.

The environmental impacts of synthetic materials like Spandex and Lycra are layered, touching on various aspects of the ecosystem and human health. By choosing fabrics that are not only eco-friendly but also socially responsible, consumers can significantly have an impact to reduce the environmental footprint of their wardrobes.

Here a brief list of the innovative greener options based on their breathability, comfort or elasticity.

Bamboo Fiber, Hemp, Econyl, Piñatex — natural leather alternative made from pineapple leaf fibers — or recycled polyester.

This article published in Ethos explains why the end of Spandex might be happening sooner than later.

This summer we are navigating sports inspired clothing and how innovative design is transforming off the tracks style.

Picture cut out tops, see through shirts, to papaya color activewear made with a sharp focus on innovation, engineered quality, and modern design.

Sports and fashion have been synonymous for decades. Think Vollebak design founded by extreme sports athletes using science and technology to create clothes for a certain future. Vollebak tackles the fundamental challenges of the next century — climate change, human health, sustainability and space, by using forward thinking material technology. Their Indestructible Puffer’s exterior is formed by soft denim-like material and the strongest fibre ever created with a strength of steel. Who says that sports and innovation can’t revolutionize everyday active fashion.

Laidback yet sophisticated, these activewear pieces in our wardrobe mix effortless style (picture).
